Lost (Music from the ABC Television Series)

Alright - apparently the DVD section of xanga's search engine has been smoking crack. Cuz - it won't let me say that I've been watching Lost...so...I decided to tell a small lie, and say i'm listening to the music instead.

So my new found love is Lost. Me and my roomies rented the whole first season and watched it in a matter of days. Mainly because we had to...it was due back at the movie store.  But last night me and Betsy went to Walmart and bought season 2...and I'm basically obsessed now. Its just so good! And I want answers to all of the confusing things going on. So there ya go...I love Lost.

Besides that, school is going great. Well - I wish I wasn't taking so many classes...but my living situation is SO much better then last year, and I've just been having a lot of fun with my new roomies. I'm also excited to get back into the swing of all the activities I love, like choir, dance, sign club....

Also this past weekend was Lifelight. You know, that huge free Christian concert. Dan and I went on Saturday night (everybody else ditched us!) and saw Jeremy Camp and Casting Crowns who were both amazing. Jeremy Camp is definately one of my all time favorite Christian artists anyway...and they were both very good.  Theres definately jsut something about worshiping with hundreds of other Christians that is completely amazing. There was also a part of the Casting Crowns guy's message that really struck me. He talked about how God can call you to something and you can feel like you're all wrong...not talented enough, not trained enough, wrong looks, wrong everything...but it doesn't matter, because thats what God has called you to do. He doesn't need you, he wants you, and he will equip you with everything you need. Now I just have to figure out exactly what career that applies to for me.

Well - its about bed time for this chica. Catch ya'll latta!

I can't believe that I'm already moved back into college...and also that I'm a junior this year! I'm so old. But - I'm already much more excited about my living situation this year then the last.  Although it eventually worked out ok last year...I just always felt like I was missing out on something. But this year I'm with some great girls, and I think it'll be a lot of fun.

Classes start tomorrow, and I'm a little nervous because I'm taking 19.5 credits! Its a little more then I'd usually like to be taking - so i'm gunna see how the first few days treat me, and then if I want to drop a class I still can. I also spend about a million dollars on books today...it was completely ridiculous.

Other then all of that...I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to go for the Roosevelt audition or not. I keep praying about it...so hopefully God will show me his plan for me.

I'm running out of things to say...so, I hope you're all having fantastic days. Catcha latta!

I think its been far too long since I updated! And I'm sure all my avid readers are asking themselves - what could Allison be doing that is more important then posting on xanga? ;) Even though I don't think I really have any avid readers, I will still tell you.

Lets just skip to the exciting parts. So on Wednesday I took the day off from work, because me and my friend Aaron had tickets to...you guessed it...Wicked! So we drove to Chicago, and I showed him around downtown. Its strange to me that the past two times I've gone to Chicago I've been the "expert"...cuz...I really don't know all that much. So - we went to the show that night. I was a little dissapointed because Kristy is apparently on vacation, so her understudy went on. She was quite good, had an amazing voice...but...she still wasn't Kristy. Even though this was my fourth time seeing it, I still loved it. It really doesn't get old for me. But - the best part for me was prolly after the show. Because...for the first time in the four that I've seen this show, I finally went and found the stage door. We got the main actors and actresses to sign our play bills...and then...I met Kristoffer Cusick! He was very sweet, signed our programs, gladly took a picture, and exchanged a few words with us. It was wonderful. Now I've just gotta work on that thing where he likes men...

So we came back yesterday...and as you may have guessed, the usual gang came over later. Chris and I were bored though, so - we ended up finding this Wicked singing contest that we're gunna enter. If we win, we get to go to Chicago and see Wicked...and then maybe to New York to compete with the finalists...I think. I don't know - its kinda confusing. But - if we make it into the top ten, our videos will be up on the internet, and you'd best be voting for us. ;) If only.

I obviously have today off as well...mostly because its shut down at Vermeers. So, if you wanna be my friend, just give me a call. ;) See ya!

So...a little layout change...what do ya think? :) I think its super cute...so...if you don't...go sniff glue. ;) Only kidding.

Anyways, besides this new layout, my last couple days have been wonderful. If you read my last post then you know I'm in Chicago right now. And can I just say again how much I love this city? Cuz I do. Anyways, on Wednesday we got up at about 4 (no rest for the weary!) and managed to leave Pella by about 5. Only problem was, we were in the middle of an absolute downpour. It was dark, I was driving, and I couldn't see a thing. So we had to pull over for a bit...but after about 10 min. it let up enough that we could drive. Once we got to the city we headed straight to the theatre for the raffle...and lost. So, we had a fun day walking around downtown, going to Navy Pier, and doing a little shopping. We tried to win tickets again that night...no such luck.

Yesterday we headed back to Midway, and got pretty lost. We were doing great until we had to turn onto psycho 31st street...which turned into an interstate out of no where. Then I got stuck getting onto all these different interstates with no exits...but...we finally turned ourselves around and got there. We ate at Panera -- which I found for us...cuz I'm just amazing like that ;) -- and then spent some time in millenium park, and eventually borders. Then...once again...we went to the theatre. But this time things were a little different, because this time we won! :D Now -- I don't want to go on about this for too long...cuz...I know this is the second time I've gotten to see Wicked from the front row...and there may or may not be people who hate me. ;) But, just in case you were wondering, it was amazing. Every time I see it I can't believe how much I love that musical! The seats were obviously awesome...front row.  My man, Kris, was playing Fiyero -- he is so hot...and a great actor...if only he liked women. And Kristy Cates (aka Elphaba) was even more amazing then last time. She seriously reminds me of Idina sometimes when she sings. And Stacie as Galinda was hilarious - she always cracks me up! Anyways, I could go on for ages...but it was spectacular...and I was really happy that I got to see it with my mom. She knows how much I love musicals, especially Wicked, so now she got to see first hand whats so great about it! She had an awesome time too...I know she really loved it. But then again, how can you not?

And now, we're just getting ready to head over to a nearby cheesecake factory, then maybe a little target and we're heading home. But, I won't be missing the city for too long...cuz I'll be back on August 9...for my 4th viewing of Wicked. :) So I hope you're all having great days...and lives. ;) Check ya latta!

Well, time for a quick update. Lets see...first things first -- we got a cat! Actually, a kitty to be exact. We more or less adopted her. She was a stray that we found hanging around our house. My little brother wouldn't stop playing with her..and then feeding her...and then bringing her into our house. Things progressed, and in a matter of days she had a litter box and a vet appointment. We named her Mimi (my idea actually..) and she's pretty cute -- I'm usually not a cat person, but this one is super sweet...and good natured, except for the fact that she continually poo's on my bed. Three times now...I am not impressed. But, if you look past her bowel movements, she's pretty loveable. Heres a pic of me and her...her eyes are closed...but you get the picture...

In other news, me and my mom are off to Chicago on Wednesday...and I'm very excited! Because not only do I get to miss three whole days of work (YAY!) but we're gunna go shopping, and to millenium park, and navy pier AND try to win Wicked tickets. Plus -- I just love Chicago! So, that should be a good time. Tomorrow may be a little hectic what with work, and then cleaning at church to make a few extra bucks for our trip, and then packing...plus we're gunna leave at like 5 in the morning so we can try for the matinee tickets....but it'll be worth it. And we figure the more chances we have to win, the better!

Something else that has been on my mind a lot lately is not quite as happy as going to Chicago. In fact...its one of those things that I don't want to give out too many details on...which prolly means I just shouldn't talk about it on xanga at all, but just bear with me. There is a certain person who I feel rather betrayed by in the past few months, and not only am I very upset with them, but I'm very scared for our friendship. I've honestly gotten to the point where I'm not sure if it can ever be the way it was...and that breaks my heart. I feel like I've gone above and beyond what can be expected of me in this situation and gotten nothing in return. I'm beginning to wonder if I ever really knew this person at all. Its just something that I want resolved more then anything...but, this person doesn't even seem to care enough about me to simply give me a call and say, "lets talk." Its all very hurtful...and I just wish he wouldn't have messed everything up...

Anyhoo - I best be getting to bed...it'll be 4 am before I know it! So...whoever's reading this...I hope you're having a wonderful night/day/..moment. ;) And if you want to leave me a comment...I wouldn't hate it...cuz I'm starting to wonder if people really read this or not...or if I'm just talking to myself. ;) Tootles!

P.S. I recently finished reading "The Devil Wears Prada." (As you may have guessed from the "Currently Reading" thing at the top ;) ) And it was pretty good. (A few too many f-bombs though...) If you enjoyed the movie you'd definately like the book. So there ya go, a little book recomendation from me to you. :)
